Guide to Micro
RC Cars and Trucks
The 1/18 scale micro rc cars are becoming more and more
popular these days. You can get them in RTR or kit versions and
run them just about anywhere. They are fun and they can really
go fast.
The beginner should start with electric rc cars because they are
easier to control and there is very little mechanical knowledge
required to maintain them. To see some of the most popular
micro mini rc cars, go to the HPI Micro RC Cars page.
A good one to start with would be the HPI RS4 Micro RTR.
It won HobbyTown USA best car of 2002. It's a fun little R/C car.
The Micro RS4 kit is perfect for indoor racing. It has a 4WD
single belt drive train and rubber tires. It runs on tile and
low-piled carpet and wood floors very easily and it's fun!
Performance
The HPI RS4 Mini R/C car is very fast for its size. It has a very
nice top speed and it will accelerate very quickly.
Handling
The RS4 handles very well on any smooth surface.
Wheels & Tires
The tires are made of rubber with foam inserts. They will last
quite a while.
Durability
The HP RS4 has a very durable chassis, but as with any car, the
steering knuckles could break if hit at higher speeds.
This is a very nice RTR kit, however, if you want more
performance, check out the HP RS4 kit version.
